Travel blog entry: sverto

"Happy new year! Bangkok city huge, sprawling. Surprisingly, much cleaner city of Sharia in memory of prelude here 15 years ago. But given the amount of traffic, can take a long time to get a part from one city to another. The hotel was a bit of the way, on the South side of the city, West of the Chao Phraya River. No complaints though, so we got free room in Frank's 5 star Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa. Incredibly this hotel: wonderful River site with great views, impeccable gardens, Thai artwork and sculptures taste about Hotel pillows, orchids and tropical fresh fruit basket every night, and of course incredible buffet breakfast. Also, check out some pics. Probably the best hotel I've stayed in (apart from the plains of s. African elephant). Hotel and Thai people certainly know how to make us feel welcome and special. The hotel also has free shuttle boat guest shuttles back and forth between the hotel and "Central Pier", which takes about 20 minutes. "Central Pier", we can either regular passenger ships that travelled up and down flowed, or catch "Heaven" to reach the city centre.

We don't do much in the last few days in Bangkok. Hit "chatochak weekend market, which was a crazy huge, was" full of garbage, "says Frank, as I did some shopping (or really shop) in the field of Siam very modern. And also some scenes from going up the Chao Phraya River boat "sky train" and continuous between East and West along the passengers quick but noisy c **** boats.

Finally we saw combat Muay Thai and rachadamnon Stadium. Muay Thai is a big problem in Thailand and people are crazy about it. Got tickets for one night ring side, saw 7 games. Most men were fighting only 45 kg/100 lbs! It looks like a young! Still even a little, some pretty mean began and I sure don't want to get them bad. There was live music playing which tend to get faster/more intensive progresses gradually, some fighters tour will move to the music. Unfortunately not many locals that night--we went there on Sunday night before new year — perhaps this is why? Only ¼ full Stadium, all the seats occupied by foreigners with circular side locals in the back row seats. Locals too loud and shouted with each blow job, put also wildly bets back and forth. Not the bloody struggle and got out just one person and must be on a stretcher. Here are some clips from battle (TBD).

The hotel was a dinner celebrating new year's Eve and the show, but for a hefty 10,000 baht/pp, we decided to go to town for our dinner on new year's Eve. We went to tawandang, a German beer "is very popular, which corresponds to 1,300 guests. It was packed! However, with the reservations we had to wait over an hour getting just sitting at the bar for dinner. The food was just OK, but really good beer. Also, some interesting live music somewhat cheesy on large arena with TV screens around for close-ups singers. Song Performers mix of country & Western music United States Thai-pretty awesome and karaoke. Maybe came early doesn't sound entertainment also as colourful as varied or on their website. Most local Thais were there, they were drinking amazing amounts of beer. Tawandang worked for 10 liters of beer in tall containers that towered above the popular tables!

After dinner, decided to head back to the hotel before midnight and combine them with other hotel guests for drinks at the river and watch fireworks new year.

We had another impression in Southeast Asia the taxi ride to the airport of Bangkok. The driver first tried to rip off the u.s. put bath 800 to ride. After some negotiation we settled in bath 500, who said the hotel would be a fair price. Then try to get us to pay for road toll. And… "
